The main hypothesis suggests that Manchado’s production emerged from an alternative musical environment in Spain—a group of outsiders within contemporary music—marked by male hegemony, and that it attained a unique character through strategies that challenged conventional musical practices. The central objective is to analyze the relationship between the composer’s biography and her electroacoustic work from a gender perspective, examining poietic, contextual, and reception aspects. The methodology is structured around three main axes: identifying biographical and social factors influencing her creation, engaging in a musical analysis of her works, and exploring the relationship between her aesthetics and feminist values. The theoretical framework draws on Pierre Bourdieu's principles to link context and subjectivity and incorporates Rodó-Zárate’s theory of intersectionality to explore how feminism—alongside economic, cultural, and political conditions—shaped Manchado’s work. The original musical analysis employs Carlos Villar-Taboada’s logostructure paradigm, combined with Gérard Genette’s theories and the Averroist philosophy through the concept of «mixture» developed by Emanuelle Coccia. Additionally, George Didi-Huberman’s psychoanalytic concept of the «symptom» guides the critical reception of her work. Manchado’s oeuvre is deeply influenced by her sociopolitical context, academic training, and commitment to feminism. Her electroacoustic music is characterized by the experimental exploration of new technologies and sound approaches, addressing issues such as ecology, poststructuralist philosophy, and poetry, all linked to an immersive and activist aesthetic where the female voice plays a central role. By positioning herself outside traditional practices, Manchado challenges the established norms of contemporary Spanish music, providing a new dimension to the study of the relationship between music, gender, and subjectivity.
