AB This doctoral thesis examines the role of jewellery in the lives of the daughters of the Catholic Monarchs, highlighting their importance not only as luxury items but also as diplomatic and political tools. Through the analysis of historical documents such as inventories, letters, and wills, the study seeks to identify the jewellery commissioned by the monarchs for their daughters in order to understand the significance of these objects within the context of the time. An exhaustive search has been conducted to locate the pieces purchased or gifted by the sovereigns, aiming to determine which types of jewellery were popular, what materials and gemstones were preferred, and what symbolic meanings they carried. The use of these precious treasures by the princesses reveals a clear strategy, whereby they demonstrated their origins and reinforced their familial ties.
