The study focuses onunderstanding the presence of 20th and 21st century repertoire in the curricula, as well as theperception and teaching practice regarding its inclusion in the classroom.Through a qualitative methodological approach based on documentary analysis and theadministration of questionnaires to the teachers involved, a triangulation of data on differentaspects such as teacher training, the benefits of this repertoire, or the current situation in pianoteaching has been carried out.The results show that, despite the wide variety of piano repertoire of this period and itsinterpretative and pedagogical interest, its inclusion in the teaching-learning process withhigher education students is still very limited, and often relegated to works from the earlytwentieth century.From a teaching perspective, the need to include specific training courses as a possiblesolution to the current lack of training in this repertoire is highlighted, along with curricularreforms that integrate this repertoire as an essential part of students’ comprehensive education.
