The proposal is framed within the CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) approach and focuses on developing cultural awareness through real communicative experiences in English. Throughout the unit, students research, analyse, and present key elements of Palencia’s Holy Week with the aim of introducing them to students from another country. The unit concludes with a virtual cultural exchange with Dutch students, fostering authentic intercultural dialogue and enhancing students’ global competence.The project integrates cross-curricular content, thinking routines, cooperative learning strategies, and digital tools, placing learners at the centre of the learning process. Results show significant progress not only in language acquisition but also in students’ ability to reflect on their own identity, respect cultural diversity, and communicate with purpose.
