Themain objective of this research is to determine the extent to which these impersonalstructures can be considered distinctive and prevalent features of legal language. Toachieve this goal, a corpus linguistics approach has been adopted as the most appropriatemethodological framework for testing the initial hypothesis. The methodology combinesthe systematic and customized collection of data with a thorough and detailed analysis ofthe grammatical patterns under study, allowing for both quantitative and qualitativeanalyses. The results confirm the initial hypothesis: impersonal constructions are indeedconsistent, distinctive, and prevalent features of legal discourse. Their widespread usehighlights their essential role in promoting objectivity, neutrality, and generalapplicability—fundamental principles of legal communication.
