This dissertation explores Kae Tempest's Let Them Eat Chaos, a hybridpoetic work that dissolves the boundaries between music, performance and literature, as anartistic intervention capable of awakening critical consciousness in contemporary audiences.Drawing on Judith Butler's theory of performativity and John L. Austin's speech act theory, this dissertation analyses how the spoken word can operate, not only as self-expression, butalso moving communities, generating emotional impact and intervening in the construction ofsocial change.
