Thisdissertation utilizes two biofictions based on the character of Mary I which try to shiftthis vision of the former queen, with them being Queen of Martyrs: The Story of Mary I(2017) by Samantha Wilcoxon and Mary, queen of Sorrows (2024) by Alison Weir havebeen used. The fictional analysis shows a more positive view of Mary, focusing more onher positive traits, and opposing the propagandistic reputation that has reached our days.
