As a cultural narrative constructed by immigrant experiences, the main objective has been to establish the evolution of these experiences in the 19th century through Abraham Cahan's novel, Yekl: A Tale of the New York Guetto (1896) and the 20th century through Francis Coppola's film, The Godfather Part II (1974). The elements that demonstrate how both narrative works offer a critical vision of the American Dream will be analyzed, thus being able to frame each one respectively in different stages of its representation, enabling to trace its evolution.
