However, the use of classics sometimes contributes negatively to the students’ motivation. For this reason, this Master’s dissertation presents a didactic proposal for the fourth year of Educación Secundaria Obligatoria based on the analysis of the witch as a literary archetype in William Shakespeare’s Macbeth and Nathaniel Hawthorne’s “Young Goodman Brown.” The aim of this proposal is to improve the students’ communicative competence, namely their written and oral production, through a creative writing approach. Likewise, it seeks to foster students’ interest in classic literature and folklore, while encouraging critical thinking and reflection on cultural and historical narratives. Therefore, through dynamics focused on inquiry-based learning and gamification, the selected texts will allow learners to explore history and literature, while promoting respect and tolerance in a diverse classroom.
