The aim of the research is to describe the discursive positions and theircorresponding relational structure concerning the management of the internationalisationof research activities among Honduran university professors.Methods. The study employed a qualitative/structural methodology to analyse the discursivedata produced by faculty members in discussion groups, organised accordingto an ad hoc structural sample.Results. The analysis identified four distinct discursive positions: (A) CentralisedInstitutional, (B) Anti-Institutional, (C) Non-Institutional, and (D) Delegation or/and University Autonomy. The structure revealed relationships of both affinity and oppositionbetween these positions.Conclusion. The findings suggest that a synergistic and interdependent interrelationof the positive aspects of each position could enhance the transnationalisation of scientificactivity, contributing to reducing the barriers that hinder the internationalisationof university research.Practical application. Insights from this study may guide policy development and institutionalstrategies to better support the internationalisation of research in universities.
