In this work, a suitable numericaltechnique is introduced in order to approximate the density solution of this kindof problems. This procedure isolates the principal complication for the problem:the approximation of the survival probability. Therefore, assuming second-orderapproximations to the survival probability, we propose a numerical method forthe age-structured population model with the same order of convergence. Theaccuracy of the numerical approximations is proved and numerically illustrated.
