RT info:eu-repo/semantics/article T1 La traducción en Castilla y León A1 Cordón García, José Antonio A2 Ediciones Universidad de Valladolid K1 Filología AB Translation constitutes one of the main operations in information transference processes. In Spain this activity plays a leading role, reaching the highest levels in Western countries: One out of every four books published is a translation, being English the first source language. The activity of translation is closely connected to the economical resources of publishing houses. These must invest an additional amount of money that does not easily find a compensation or is recovered in the short term. This makes translation to be hindered by the limited dimensions of the companies in places where edition works present a peripherical character, as it does in the community of Castile & León, where it only reaches a certain importance in three of its provinces, Salamanca, Valladolid and León. The importance, however, of German in the community translation activities is significant with percentages clearly over the national standards SN 1139-7489 YR 1999 FD 1999 LK http://uvadoc.uva.es/handle/10324/9453 UL http://uvadoc.uva.es/handle/10324/9453 LA spa NO Hermeneus: Revista de la Facultad de Traducción e Interpretación de Soria, 1999, N.1, pags.57-82 DS UVaDOC RD 25-abr-2024
