RT info:eu-repo/semantics/article T1 La Monarquía castellana en los siglos XIII-XIV: algunas consideraciones A1 Estepa Díez, Carlos A2 Ediciones Universidad de Valladolid K1 Edad Media AB The evolution of taxation during the period, specifically taxes such as martiniegas, servicios, monedas and alcabalas, expresses the spread of royal power in terms of "King's Lordship" (Señorío del Rey). We argue that this phenomenon needs to be understood as an extension of royal power during the whole period and not just from the reign of Alfonso X onwards. Likewise, we consider that the spread of lordships, resulting in the emergence of new types of lordships (señoríos jurisdiccionales) and the alienation of royal lands, was a gradual process that began before 1369. We al so challenge the model of the Modern State and its formation, above all when considering the maintenance of feudal relationships in the late medieval monarchy.
