El texto de Plinio sobre la ciudad de Segobrlga ha suscitado numerosos debates desde el siglo XVIII. Los mismos se han centrado en tres aspectos principales: la localización de la ciudad, el sentido que debe darse a la palabra caput, y finalmente en relación con el estatus administrativo de la ciudad. En el trabajo se defiende el concepto geográfico de la palabra caput, así como la promoción municipal de Segobriga en época de Augusto.
The text of Pliny the Older about Segobriga is widely debated since the eighteenth century. These debates have focused on three main aspects: the location of the city, the meaning to be given to the word caput, and finally in relation to the administrative status of the city. This work defends the geographical concept of the word caput, and the recognition as munlcipium of Segobriga in time of Augustus.
