La magnitud y la celeridad del gasto consignado en la Pagaduría general del ejército de Flandes complicaron su contabilidad y dificultaron las labores de control tradicionalmente aplicado sobre ella. En este artículo se contrastan la gestión cotidiana de la tesorería y los problemas que el control ordinario de sus actividades plantearon a la Corona en el transcurso de la primera mitad del siglo XVII. El contraste demuestra que se formularon soluciones adecuadas para resolverlos, aunque no se aplicaron, pues su aplicación implicaba trastocar el marco administrativo militar en una coyuntura de guerra.
The magnitude and the swiftness of allocated spending in the Pagaduría general of the Spanish army in Flanders complicated its accounting and made more difficult its traditional way of control. In this paper, the treasurership daily management is contrasted with the problems that usual controlwork posed to Spanish Crown in the course of the first half of the Seventeenth century. AIthough appropriate solutions were formulated to solve them, they were never applicated, because they should alter completely the military administrative framework on a war time.
