El corso y el cautiverio en tiempos de Cervantes

Abstract

Dentro del contexto de la guerra corsaria que practican los musulmanes y los cristianos en el Mediterráneo, el presente estudio se centra en el corso berberisco, sobre todo el argelino, y en su consecuencia más importante: la captura de muchos españoles que pasan a engrosar el número de los cautivos cristianos en Argel, su forma de vida y posibilidades de liberación.

Within the context of the privateering war that practices the Muslims and the Christians in the Mediterranean Sea, the present study is centered in the berberisco privateering, mainly the Algerian, and the in its more important consequence: the capture of many Spaniards who happen to thicken the number of the Christians captives in Algiers, their form of life and possibilities of liberation.
