El presente artículo ha pretendido dar respuesta a dos preguntas muy concretas, respecto a los Talleres Principales de Valladolid durante el período estudiado: ¿Tuvieron los Talleres categoría empresarial? y ¿se les puede considerar como una empresa socialmente progresiva? A partir del desarrollo de esta investigación, se puede afirmar, en cuanto a su capacidad de empleo, la estabilidad del mismo, su incremento en el tiempo y la renta nominal de sus salarios, que los Talleres, desde el punto de vista social, alcanzaron la categoría de "gran empresa". Por otro lado, Norte fue pionera de la previsión social en España. El grado de protección con que contaban sus empleados y las instituciones benéfico-sociales puestas a su servicio especialmente importantes en el caso de Valladolid- así parecen atestiguarlo, corroborando su sentido socialmente progresivo.
This work tries to answer two specific questions about the Principal Workshops in Valladolid during this period: did the Workshops have a managerial category? and second question, may we consider the Workshops as a company with social advances? As for its capacity of employment, we are able to affirm that there is an employment stability, an increase of this employment in that period and an increase in the workers' income. So we can state, from the social point of view, that the Workshops reached the category of "big company". On the other hand, the Norte Company pioneered and social-beneficent institutions -particularly important in the case of Valladolid-, that the social progressive character of this company is corroborated.
