La administración del Conde-Duque de Olivares y la justicia militar en el ejército de Flandes (1567-1643)

Abstract

En este estudio, intento describir el funcionamiento del sistema disciplinario de los famosos tercios de Flandes y sugerir que las reformas judiciales y disciplinarias del Conde Duque de Olivares, valido de Felipe IV, contribuyeron a minar la efectividad de este ejército, lo que desempeñó un papel importante en la derrota de España en la guerra de Flandes (1567-1659).

In this study I try to describe the structure and function of the military justice system in Spain's Army of Flanders and to suggest that the reforms introduced by the Count Duke of Olivares, valido de Philip IV, actually undermined the effectiveness of the army and thus played an important role in the defeat of Spain in the Eighty Years War (1567-1659).
