Las repercusiones de la Revolución soviética en Rusia se dejaron sentir al menos durante medio siglo. Con todo, a pesar de la enorme trascendencia del acontecimiento, los medios escritos en España, al menos durante el primer afto de la revolución, trataron la Revolución de forma escueta y contradictoria. Este fenómeno puede atribuirse a tres factores esenciales: 1. La Primera Guerra Mundial; 2. El diferente camino ideológico que siguieron los socialistas españoles. 3. La "traición de Lenin", es decir, el hecho de que el líder bolchevique dejara solas a las democracias occidentales en su lucha contra Alemania.
The repercussions of the 1917 Soviet Revolution in Russia were felt for over half a century. And yet, despite the extremely great significance of this event, media coverage in Spain, at least for the first year of the revolution, was scarce and contradictory. This phenomenon can be attributed to three key factors: (i) World War I, (ii) the different ideological path followed by Spanish Socialists, and (iii) Lenin's "betrayal", i.e. the fact that he left the Western democracies to fight back the German aggression on their own.
