Ante el vacóio historiográfico que existe sobre la economía de la diócesis de Osma en la época moderna, el presente trabajo hace una reflexión sobre algunas fuentes documentales que permitirían realizado; después estudia la rentas de la mesa episcopal, como muestra de las posibilidades que ofrecen las fuentes consultadas, y se concluye con unas ideas sobre la crítica que se levanta en el siglo XVIII contra la riqueza de la iglesia y la quiebra de su poder económico en el primer tercio del siglo XIX.
Before the existing historiographic vacuun concerning the economy of the Diocese of Osma in Early Modern Times, the present work makes a reflection on some documentary prime source winch coul permit its realization. It also studies the episcopal incomes of Osma as a sample of the posibilities offered by the consulted prime sources, and with some ideas on the criticism made in the XVIII century against the wealth of the church and the abruption of its economic power during the first third of XIX century.
