The following pages offer a perspective about the methods and main lines of research on Latin Linguistics, mainly concerning to Vulgar Latin. Therefore, different methodological trends in Romance Philology and Latin Philology will be reviewed. Special analysis will be on those currents fitting more with the study of the Vulgar Latin and its peculiarities, by pointing out the objectives and results of those lines of research from a critical perspective.
El objetivo de las páginas que siguen es tratar sobre los métodos y las principales líneas de investigación en Lingüística Latina que se refieren al Latín Vulgar. Por ello, se repasarán las distintas corrientes metodológicas desde el terreno de la Filología Románica y de la Filología Latina, en especial aquellas que consideramos más ajustadas al estudio de la lengua vulgar y a sus particularidades, tratando de ofrecer un panorama descriptivo y a menudo crítico de los objetivos y resultados de sus líneas de investigación.
