    Résumé
In this study, design of the anaerobic digestion plant to treat the organic fraction of municipal solid waste was described, using the experimental data under laboratory scale using conventional biochemical methane potential (BMP) assay, to quantify biogas productivity. Biochemical methane potential (BMP) tests were used as a tool to evaluate the methane production of OFMSW and the analyses of the fraction indicated that organic substrates obtained major productivity (420 mlCH4/gVS). The loading rate ratio 1:1 had optimum biodegradability rate than ratio 2:1, which was also investigated. The loading rate ratio of 1:1 had optimum biogas and methane yield after 20 days hydraulic retention time. It was concluded that the organic waste generated from the municipal landfills has great potential to produce methane, which can be used as a source of environmentally friendly and clean energy for the transport sector, industries and residential homes.
