El periodista y su faceta de historiador: la Historia como protagonista de la información

Abstract

El presente trabajo de investigación analiza el vínculo entre la Historia y el Periodismo. Su objetivo es demostrar la faceta de historiador del periodista, que implica un doble papel: el uso, por parte del periodista, de la historia para explicar la realidad actual; y, a su vez, conformar la propia historia, que el redactor refleja como testigo de la misma, de un determinado periodo a partir de la producción periodística. Este estudio se divide en dos bloques, cada uno de ellos dedicado al desdoble ya citado, que se centran en acontecimientos fundamentales para analizar dicho vínculo: la sublevación militar de 1936 que dio lugar a la Guerra Civil y las Elecciones Generales de 1977; así como el referéndum independentista catalán del 1 de octubre de 2017 y la disolución del grupo terrorista ETA en 2018. La elección de cada suceso, esenciales en la memoria española, responde a una serie de consideraciones relacionadas con el contexto político-social, el periodo temporal y la posición y el papel de los medios ante los mismos. El fin último es analizar, a través de un análisis cuantitativo y cualitativo, la objetividad, la imparcialidad y el pluralismo informativo presentes en los artículos periodísticos objeto de estudio para verificar las hipótesis a través de los resultados obtenidos.

The present research work analyzes the link between History and Journalism. Its objective is to demonstrate the facet of the historian of the journalist, which implies a double role: the use, by the journalist, of history to explain the current reality; and, in turn, shape the story itself, which the editor captures as a witness of it, of a certain period through the journalistic production. This study is divided into two blocks, each of which is dedicated to the above mentioned split, which focus on fundamental events to analyze this link: the military uprising of 1936 that prompted Spanish Civil War and the General Elections of 1977; as well as the catalan separatist referéndum of October 1 in 2017 and the dissolution of the terrorist group ETA in 2018. The election of each event, essential in the spanish memory, responds to a series of considerations related to the political-social context, the period temporary and the position and role of the media before them. The ultimate goal is to analyze, through a quantitative and qualitative analysis, the objectivity, impartiality and informative pluralism present in the journalistic articles subject of study to verify the hypothesis through the results obtained.
