El desempleo juvenil en España y Castilla y León

Abstract

El objetivo del trabajo es analizar el desempleo juvenil en España y Castilla y León, poniendo en contexto todos los rasgos característicos que puedan afectar directa o indirectamente sobre el objeto de estudio. Para ello, se realiza un análisis descriptivo y explicativo tomando como referencia el periodo comprendido entre 2005 y el primer trimestre de 2018. Castilla y León en comparación con España, se encuentra en una posición notablemente favorable en lo que a paro se refiere. La tendencia en los últimos años demuestra que el desempleo, tanto en España como en CyL, está registrando un comportamiento positivo, a lo que hay que añadir que en Castilla y León el paro desciende a un ritmo mayor que en España. Factores como las deficiencias del sistema educativo y del mercado de trabajo, explican la relevancia del desempleo juvenil en España. Otros factores con menor relevancia que los mencionados anteriormente, son el abandono escolar y la escasa efectividad de las políticas activas de empleo utilizadas para mejorar la situación.

The objective of the study is to analyze youth unemployment in Spain and Castilla y León, putting in context all the characteristic features that may directly or indirectly affect the object of study. To do this, a descriptive and explanatory analysis is carried out taking as reference the period between 2005 and the first quarter of 2018. Castilla y León, in comparison with Spain, is in a remarkably favorable position as regards unemployment. The trend in recent years shows that unemployment in both Spain and CyL, is registering a positive behavior, but it should be noted that in Castilla y León unemployment drops at a higher rate than in Spain. Factors such as the deficiencies of the education system and the labor market, explain the relevance of youth unemployment in Spain. Other factors with less relevance than those mentioned above are school dropouts and the low effectiveness of the active employment policies used to improve the situation.
