In the six episodes that make up this popular saga, we can see the influence of many different architectural styles, some very distant in time and other more exotic origin. But regardless of their creation, all respond to a single interest: creating on the screen a very powerful and recognizable architectural image . Using what we have named “galactic invariants” from George Lucas, is reflected massively over these films. We refer to the profusion of the use of the domes, the importance of the central plant and using horizontal window. Artistic styles intermingle, creating seemingly pointless plausible images. The distorted architectural orders, modifying existing and creating entirely new. But the fertile imagination of George Lucas takes us to planets with very different conditions from ours. Such as Coruscant is a planet where everywhere is built forming a single city or Bespin unbreathable atmosphere which forces people to live in flyers cities or Kamino a planet where there is no dry land and constant storms forcing houses are elevated above the ground the sea. Including the “virtual “ change in some well-known real architectural spaces, such as the Santa Sofia in Istanbul, Spain Square in Seville and the Palace of Caserta in Italy. All this can only be explained because it happened .... A long time ago in a galaxy far away.es
