La sal fue un recurso de alto valor para las gentes asociadas al fenómeno Campaniforme, que poblaron Europa occidental a finales del III milenio a.C. En este trabajo se ofrece una lectura social sobre el papel geoestratégico que tuvo este recurso para los Campaniformes ibéricos, individuos de alto estatus. Para argumentar el estudio se expone una recopilación de los testimonios hallados en la Península Ibérica, ya que es el único que permite una interpretación fundamentada de la sal como un instrumento de poder.
Salt was a high value resource for people associated with the Bell Beaker phenomenon, who inhabited Westen Europe at the end of the third millennium BC. This project offers a social reading of the geostrategic role that this resource had for the Iberian Bell Beakers, high-status individuals. To substantiate this study, a compilation of the discoveries found in the Iberian Peninsula is presented, since it is the only area that allows a well-supported interpretation of salt as a power instrument.
