Pedro Álvarez de Acosta (1484-1563) obispo trascendental y poco tratado del siglo XVI, tradicionalmente se le ha estudiado como un obispo renacentista y anterior a Trento; pero analizando bien su figura y la política que desarrolla principalmente durante su cargo en la diócesis de Osma, se aprecian ciertos rasgos adelantados a Trento.
Pedro Álvarez de Acosta (1484-1563) transcendental bishop and little treated of the sixteenth century, has traditionally been treated as a Renaissance bishop and prior to Trent; but analyzing well his figure and the politics that he develops mainly during his position in the Diocese of Osma, certain features advanced to Trent are appreciated.
