En el presente trabajo se pretende dar una visión de cuál es la situación de las personas con Síndrome de Down a la hora de formar parte del mercado laboral. Para eso se analizarán temas como la regulación jurídica, las características de estas personas y su influencia en el desarrollo de la vida laboral, y las diferentes formas de trabajo a las que pueden optar, desarrollando en mayor profundidad el Empleo con Apoyo, por ser la apuesta clara de asociaciones como Down España.
Además se estudiará la situación de estas personas en el mercado laboral de Castilla y León, caracterizando a esa población y observando si se presentan diferencias por sexo, edad, grado de discapacidad, formación, lugar de residencia… para finalmente comprobar si esas variables influyen en la probabilidad de trabajar o no.
With this research I intend to show how the current situation is for people
with Down's Syndrome (also known as trisomy 21) to join and be a part of the job
market. With this goal in mind I will analyze issues such as legal regulations, the
characteristics people with this syndrome have and how said characteristics
could affect or influence the development of their work, and the different forms of
jobs they are offered, focusing specially in the 'Supported Employment' model,
as it's considered as the most appropriate by the Down Spain association.
I will also focus in how the situation is for people with trisomy 21 in Castilla
y León, noting if there are differences when it comes to gender, age, degree of
disability, education and place of residence and how these variables may affect
their working opportunities
