El presente Trabajo de Fin de Grado tiene como objetivo el análisis de las técnicas y estrategias empleadas por los reinos cristianos, en especial Castilla, entre los siglos XI y XIII en la Península Ibérica. De este modo se estudiará individualmente en cada capítulo una metodología diferente, pese a que exista una estrecha relación entre las tres tácticas militares. El primer capítulo se centrará en las cabalgadas, seguido por los asedios y en último lugar se analizarán las batallas a campo abierto. Al mismo tiempo podrá observarse cómo estos modos de hacer la guerra fueron fundamentales para permitir la expansión cristiana y el alejamiento de la frontera frente a las potencias musulmanas.
The present Undergraduate Dissertation aims to analyse the techniques and strategies employed by the Christian kingdoms, specially Castile, between the 11th and 13th centuries in the Iberian Peninsula. In doing so, each chapter will discuss individually a different methodology, although a close connection exists between all three military tactics. The first chapter will focus on raids, followed by the sieges and, lastly, pitched battles will be analysed. Simultaneously, it can be noted how these methods of doing war were fundamental to allow the Christian expansion and the extension of the frontier against the Muslim polities.
