Los estudios de la Historia Cultural de las Emociones, en correlación con sus intensos debates sobre si las emociones son sólo construcciones sociales o hay también influencia de factores biológicos y psíquicos, nos hacen plantear cómo son asumidos los discursos del amor en los planteamientos individuales y cómo estos son transformados en actitudes cotidianas. De esta manera, el análisis de las cartas privadas de dos parejas de amantes, vecinos de Valladolid y Medina de Rioseco a finales del siglo XVI y comienzos del XVII, albergadas en el Archivo de la Real Audiencia y Chancillería de Valladolid y en la Sección Documental del Archivo de la Catedral de Palencia, nos aportan valiosas respuestas en relación con estos planteamientos.
Studies of the Cultural History of Emotions make us consider how the discourses of love are transformed into everyday attitudes, in correlation with their intense debates on whether emotions are only social constructs or if there are influences of biological and psychological factors too. In this way, the analysis of the private letters of two pairs of lovers, residents of Valladolid and Medina de Rioseco at the end of the 16th and the beginning of the 17th century, kept in the Royal Audience’s Archive and Chancery of Valladolid, and in the Documentary Section from the Cathedral of Palencia’s Archive, provide us valuable answers in relation to these approaches.
