Shigeru Ban, una arquitectura sin arquitecto

Abstract

El presente Trabajo de Fin de Grado (TFG) desarrolla un proceso de investigación que se acerca paulatinamente a la arquitectura de Shigeru Ban. El punto de partida del mismo es la denominada “arquitectura sin arquitectos”, teoría que se investiga asociada a la figura de Bernard Rudofsky, entendiéndola como aquella arquitectura basada en lo atávico, que se produce por procesos de prueba y error a lo largo del tiempo, que establece fuertes vínculos con su entorno y resulta notablemente adaptativa. Las diversas partes del trabajo abordan cuestiones como las crisis de la idea de estilo o la adaptación al medioambiente. Se estudia la obra de Bernard Rudofsky y el revolucionario cambio que supone su punto de vista. Por último, el TFG se centra en la obra de Shigeru Ban, arquitecto con gran conciencia social y medioambiental, que destaca por su obra en cartón y su labor humanitaria.

This Final Degree Project (TFG) develops a research process that gradually approaches the Architecture of Shigeru Ban. The starting point is the so-known “Architecture without architects”, a theory that is being investigated and it is associated with the figure of Bernard Rudofsky. This theory is understood as an Architecture based on the atavism, which is produced by the method of trial and error over time, establishing strong links with its environment and being remarkably adaptive. The diverse parts of this work broach the issues such as the style idea crisis or its environment adaptation. Besides it is studied Bernard Rudofsky work and the revolutionary change that his point of view implies. Finally, the TFG focuses on the work of Shigeru Ban, an architect with great social and environmental awareness, who stands out for his cardboard work and his humanitarian work.
