El presente trabajo se centra en demostrar cómo la influencia del amor romántico representado en películas dirigidas a adolescentes reproduce y perpetúa la desigualdad entre hombres y mujeres. Este hecho se relaciona con la socialización diferenciada por géneros en la cual nos educan en las sociedades occidentales, tratándose de un factor importante para el desarrollo de la violencia machista y la hegemonía de los hombres respecto a las mujeres. A través del análisis de los largometrajes “After. Aquí empieza todo” (After, Jenny Gage, 2019) y “After. En mil pedazos” (After We Collided, Roger Kumble, 2020) se pretende observar la presencia de diversos mitos del amor romántico y estereotipos de género en películas dirigidas al público más joven para comprobar su vigencia y aceptación en la sociedad.
This paper focuses on demonstrating how the influence of romantic love represented in films aimed at adolescents reproduces and perpetuates inequality between men and women. This fact is related to the gender-differentiated socialization in which we are educated in western societies, being an important factor for the development of sexist violence and the hegemony of men over women. Through the analysis of the feature films "After" (Jenny Gage, 2019) and "After We Collided" (Roger Kumble, 2020), the aim is to observe the presence of various myths of romantic love and gender stereotypes in films aimed at younger audiences in order to verify their validity and acceptance in society.
