El trabajo social en el ámbito sanitario

Abstract

El proceso de salud enfermedad genera una serie de dificultades en la persona enferma y su entorno más cercano, apareciendo situaciones complicadas de inquietud y malestar. La persona que sufre la enfermedad tiene que enfrentarse a un ingreso hospitalario con su posterior periodo de convalecencia en el domicilio habitual. Es imprescindible que ante estas situaciones de enfermedad se definan los factores sociales que afectan a las personas, los responsables de identificarlos son los trabajadores sociales del ámbito sanitario, que realizan las diferentes acciones y actuaciones que forman la intervención social para poder ofrecer a los pacientes los recursos, servicios y prestaciones necesarias con la finalidad de satisfacer las necesidades sociales y eliminar las carencias. Además de lo anterior trataremos las funciones que realizan los trabajadores sociales sanitarios en el ámbito de la salud y las técnicas documentales que utilizan mayoritariamente para trabajar en coordinación con el resto de los profesionales sanitarios que están implicados en el caso de cada paciente. También hablaremos de una de las funciones más importantes que tienen los profesionales del trabajo social en el ámbito de la salud como es la planificación del alta hospitalaria, labor imprescindible para lograr la máxima calidad de vida de la ciudadanía.

The mental health process generates a series of difficulties in the sick person and their closest environment, appearing difficult situations of worry and malaise. The person that suffers the illness has to face to an admission with the subsequent period of convalescence in their residence. It is essential that in the face of these illness situations, the social factors that affect people are defined, and those responsible for identifying them are the health care social workers, who carry out the different actions and conducts that make up the social intervention in order to offer patients the resources, services and benefits necessary to satisfy social needs and eliminate deficiencies. In addition to the above, we will deal with the functions performed by health social workers in the field of health and the documentary techniques that they mostly use to work in coordination with the rest of the health professionals who are involved in the case of each patient. We will also talk about one of the most important functions that social work professionals have in the planning of hospital discharge, an essential task to achieve the highest quality of life for citizens.
