El analfabetismo digital como factor de exclusión

Abstract

Las Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación forman parte de nuestra sociedad y de nuestras vidas, produciendo en ellas tanto oportunidades como amenazas y nuevas formas de exclusión social y digital. En el presente trabajo se analizan las oportunidades y amenazas de las TIC a través de la información obtenida de la revisión bibliográfica y de unas entrevistas individuales y grupales a informantes clave. También se analizan los efectos del avance tecnológico en la profesión de Trabajo Social, ámbito que no deberá ser ajeno a las oportunidades y riesgos del mencionado avance. Además, se aborda, a modo de ejemplo, la prestación del Ingreso Mínimo Vital, aprobada en el año 2020, y los problemas de acceso relacionados con la brecha digital que padecen muchas de las personas que podrían beneficiarse de este recurso.

Information and communication technologies (ICTs) play a great part in nowaday´s society and our own lives, resulting in not only new opportunities for ourselves, but also threats; besides, they produce new ways of social and digital exclusion. Thereby in this project, the opportunities and risks of ICTs will be analysed thanks to the information obtained from the bibliographical review and several individual and group interviews with key informants. The effects of technological progress on the Social Work profession will also be discussed, as this area should not be oblivious to these opportunities and threats. Moreover, it will also be addressed, by way of example, the Minimum Living Income benefit, recently approved in 2020, following some access issues related to the digital breach faced by many of the people that could actually benefit from this resource.
