El objetivo de este trabajo es indagar en los orígenes de la ciudad de Valladolid haciendo un estudio de la Plena Edad Media en la Villa del Esgueva, realizando un especial énfasis en el día a día cotidiano que viven sus habitantes y los distintos elementos que componen la urbe medieval. La investigación se realizará tomando como base las distintas obras científicas que tratan este periodo. El resultado es una amplia imagen que ilustra el porqué del crecimiento de la urbe, los distintos agentes que ejercen el poder y la realidad que viven los habitantes de la ciudad.
The aim of this paper is to look into the origins of the city of Valladolid by conducting a study of the High Middle Ages in the Villa del Esgueva, with special emphasis on the daily life of its inhabitants and the different elements that make up the medieval town. The research will be carried out on the basis of the different scientific works that deal with this period. The result is a broad image that illustrates the reason for the growth of the city, as well as the different agents that wield the power and the reality lived by the city's inhabitants.
