El presente trabajo trata de abordar la capacidad que tienen las series ambientadas en la Era Vikinga, fundamentalmente Vikings, de transmitir al gran público una visión fidedigna de la realidad de esta cultura, esencialmente en el ámbito de lo militar. Por ende, el escrito se centra en analizar la forma en que quedan plasmados en la serie aspectos tan importantes como las creencias religiosas, la concepción social del honor y la fuerza o el desarrollo de las contiendas bélicas.
This dissertation discusses the ability of TV shows set in the Viking Era, mainly Vikings, to transmit to the general public a faithful representation of this culture, essentially in the military sphere. Therefore, this work analyzes the way in which important aspects, such as Norse religious beliefs, the Vikings’ conception of honor and strength, and how warfare was conducted, are represented in the show.
