    Résumé
The meaning of "humanise" includes taking into account the relationship between this term and the words that define it. In addition, its application to the care setting should be considered, as any of the defining expressions could be related to patient care. Humanising means ensuring respect for people and treating them with dignity and therefore also encompasses ethical, deontological and legal aspects of professional practice. Moreover, humanising implies caring for people from a holistic and integral perspective, since attention to people's feelings and emotions is implicit. Thus, humanisation requires considering both the physical and psychological and social or relational aspects that surround the individual, considering them as a whole which, from the holistic conception of the person, is different and is more than the sum of its component parts.
