Este trabajo versa sobre la Crónica de Alfonso III, compuesta ca. 883, que se nos ha conservado en dos redacciones: las llamadas versión Rotense y versión Para Sebastián. De cada versión se han seleccionado los tres capítulos que relatan la batalla de Covadonga (VIII-X) para su traducción y comentario lingüístico. Dentro del comentario lingüístico se han estudiado los cuatro aspectos fundamentales de una lengua: el gráfico-fonético, el morfológico, el sintáctico y el léxico. En él se expondrán todos los fenómenos que muestren divergencias con respecto al latín clásico.
This work deals with the Chronicle of Alfonso III, composed ca. 883, which has been preserved in two versions: the so-called Rotense version and the Para Sebastián version. The three chapters relating the battle of Covadonga (VIII-X) from each version have been selected for translation and linguistic commentary. The four fundamental aspects of a language have been studied in the linguistic commentary: the graphic-phonetic, the morphological, the syntactic and the lexical one. All the phenomena that show divergences with respect to classical Latin will be analyzed.
