El Alzheimer: un guiño al olvido

Abstract

El Alzheimer es la forma más común de demencia. Una enfermedad neurodegenerativa con carácter progresivo que afecta a más de 45 millones de individuos en el mundo, que afecta mayoritariamente a personas de avanzada edad. Sin embargo, no son solo se ven afectados los enfermos sino que también lo hace su entorno. Uno de los puntos más duros de esta enfermedad, para las personas que la acompañan, suele ser ver cómo poco a poco una persona que quieren va perdiendo la memoria y apagándose sin que puedan hacer nada para evitarlo. Los medios de comunicación no suelen cubrir con frecuencia esta enfermedad, además, normalmente recibe un tratamiento superficial y relacionado con los eventos del momento, por ejemplo el Día del Alzheimer. Este Trabajo de Fin de Grado se encuadra dentro de la modalidad profesional, con un reportaje documental audiovisual cuyo objetivo principal es dar visibilidad tanto a la enfermedad como al resto de elementos que la rodean. Para conocer el contexto informativo se han realizado diferentes entrevistas a expertos e historias de vida a familiares de personas que padecen esta enfermedad. Esto da como resultado un reportaje audiovisual que dura 15:02 minutos y cuya narrativa guía al espectador a través de una historia estructurada de la siguiente forma: contexto, necesidades de estos pacientes, familiares y finalmente, tratamiento y prevención.

Alzheimer is the most common form of dementia. A progressive neurodegenerative disease which affects more than 45 million individuals in the world, mainly elderly people. However, it is not only the patients that suffer, but also their environment. One of the hardest things about this illness, for the people who accompany the diseased, is to see their loved one losing their memories little by little, and fading away without being able to anything to avoid it. Mass media doesn’t usually cover this disease, and when they do, it tends to be in a superficial way and on special occasions, such as Alzheimer’s Day. This Final Degree Project falls within the professional modality, with an audiovisual documentary report whose main objective is to give visibility to the disease and the different elements that surround them. In order to do this, different interviews to experts and life stories have been carried out. This results in an audiovisual report that lasts 15:02 minutes and whose narrative guides the viewer through a story structured in the following order: context, needs of the patients, family members, treatment and prevention.
