    Resumo
PURPOSE: To pass a standardized questionnaire to investigate the reasons for the low incidence of contact lenses wear in presbyopic population. METHODS: Following Delphi method, it was designed a questionnaire that, later, was completed by 50 people over 45 years. Each person completed the questionnaire twice (with at least 15 days between each time) to analyze the repeatability and reliability of the answers. RESULTS: The stadistical analysis showed good repeatability and reliability in all the questions. Moreover, the results confirmed the low incidence of multifocal CL and 87% of the sample thought that it should be more information about this kind of contact lenses. A 63% of the spectacles wearers did not have information about multifocal CL. CONCLUSIONS: The lack of information about multifocal CL and the wrong information sources may be two important factors for the low incidence of CL wear in presbyopic population.
