La mujer y el trabajo en el oikos en la Grecia clásica

Abstract

El presente Trabajo de Fin de Grado presenta la realidad de las mujeres griegas en el ámbito del oikos, la vivienda doméstica y, al mismo tiempo, unidad principal de producción en la Grecia Clásica. El trabajo y las responsabilidades de las mujeres abarcaban desde la crianza y educación de sus propios hijos, hasta la confección de prendas y otras piezas textiles, pasando por la producción de alimentos y el cuidado de los habitantes del oikos. Se estudiará también la situación de marginación que vivían las mujeres griegas tanto en el ámbito público de la polis como dentro del propio oikos.

This final degree project presents the reality of Greek women in the field of oikos, the domestic home and, at the same time, the main unit of production in Classical Greece. The work and responsibilities of women ranged from the upbringing and education of their own children, to the making of clothing and other textile pieces, to the production of food and the care of the inhabitants of the oikos. The situation of marginalization that Greek women experienced will also be studied both in the public sphere of the polis and within the oikos itself.
