Problemática en torno a la inmigración en la Unión Europea

Abstract

El fenómeno migratorio ha estado vinculado a los seres humanos desde los comienzos de la humanidad y continúa hasta los tiempos más modernos. Sin embargo, la percepción actual de la inmigración ha supuesto más inconvenientes que beneficios, suponiendo un verdadero problema, especialmente, para los países que ven cómo sus fronteras se ven superadas ante la cantidad de migrantes que acuden a su territorio. El objetivo de este trabajo es dar una perspectiva general de toda la problemática que constituye el hecho de que cientos y miles de migrantes intentan entrar en la Unión Europea, con todos los problemas de gestión que implican para los principales países afectados, desbordados y sin capacidad de actuación, necesitando la colaboración del resto de países miembros para sofocar la crisis migratoria. Para su análisis se evaluarán las políticas que se han adoptado desde el inicio de las Comunidades Europeas y el proceso por el que se ha llevado a cabo la regulación de una política migratoria común, así como los procedimientos de entrada y expulsión de los migrantes, sus derechos, la situación de los menores no acompañados, la lucha contra la inmigración ilegal y los acuerdos con terceros países involucrados. Para finalizar, se abordará la figura del Nuevo Pacto sobre Migración y Asilo, cuáles son sus objetivos y el momento actual que atraviesa.

The phenomenon of migration has been linked to humans since the beginning of humanity and continues into modern times. However, the current perception of immigration has posed more inconveniences than benefits, becoming a real problem, especially for countries whose borders are overwhelmed by the number of migrants arriving in their territory. The objective of this work is to provide a general perspective on the entire issue of hundreds and thousands of migrants attempting to enter the European Union, with all the management problems this entails for the main affected countries, overwhelmed and unable to act, thus requiring the collaboration of the member states to mitigate the migration crisis. To analyze this, the policies adopted since the inception of the European Communities and the process by which a common migration policy has been regulated will be evaluated, as well as the entry and expulsion procedures of migrants, their rights, the situation of unaccompanied minors, the fight against ilegal immigration, and agreements with the involved third countries. Finally, the study will address the New Pacto on Migration and Asylum, its objectives, and its current status.
