Los estereotipos de género tienen gran protagonismo en la producción de los hermanos Grimm, donde el género se emplea para simbolizar tanto la virtud como el vicio. El presente trabajo analiza, en una primera fase, cuáles son las características que definen los personajes que conforman estos cuentos. Seguidamente, se estudiará, desde una perspectiva comparativa, si estos estereotipos de género se han mantenido en las traducciones al español y al inglés del cuento «Los doce hermanos»
Gender stereotyping has always been of paramount importance in the Brothers Grimm work, where gender is usually used to symbolise moral virtues and vices. The present study will analyse, from a comparative point of view, if this (sometimes reversed) gender stereotyping has been maintained in the translations into English and Spanish of the tale «The twelve Brothers»
