Mientras los deportes masculinos cuentan con apoyo social y mediático, las mujeres luchan por conseguir visibilidad y reconocimiento en sus disciplinas. Aunque el fútbol femenino ha conseguido recientemente un despegue en este sentido gracias a los títulos de la Selección Española y al fenómeno fan que arrastra Alexia Putellas (3,2 millones de seguidores), el baloncesto sigue luchando por ello, a pesar de sus éxitos y de ser la disciplina con más jugadoras licenciadas en España. Este reportaje multimedia muestra por qué el fútbol femenino supera con creces al baloncesto femenino a partir de análisis de datos sobre su historia, audiencias y salarios, así como con entrevistas a jugadoras y seleccionadores destacados de ambas disciplinas, para resolver el enigma: ¿por qué el fútbol femenino brilla mientras el baloncesto femenino lucha por despuntar?

While men´s sports enjoy social and media support, women continue to fight for visibility and recognition in their disciplines. Although women's football has recently taken off in this regard -thanks to the Spanish national team´s titles and the fan phenomenon surrounding Alexia Putellas (3.2 million followers)- basketball is still struggling, despite its successes and being the sport with the highest number of licensed female players in Spain. This multimedia report explores why women´s football far surpasses women's basketball, through data analysis on their history, audience, and salaries, as well as interviews with prominent players and coaches from both sports, in order to answer the enigma: Why does women's soccer shine while women's basketball struggles to emerge?
