"Universidad y Compromiso Social" es el nombre de una asignatura de libre configuración que se ha puesto en marcha en el campus de Segovia en el curso 2006-2007. Su planteamiento es sencillo: se trata de acercar al alumnado universitario segoviano a la realidad de las organizaciones no gubernamentales, conjugando sesiones teóricas y actividad práctica dentro de las propias organizaciones. La asignatura es heredera de otras experiencias realizadas en el campus de Segovia: el Seminario de Educación para el Desarrollo y la Paz, o las Jornadas de Educación para el Desarrollo y la Paz en Castilla y León. En este artículo se describe el nacimiento y puesta en práctica de esta iniciativa.
University and Social Commitment are the name of a subject of free configuration that has started up in the campus of Segovia in course 2006-2007. Its purpose is simple: to approach the university students of Segovia to the reality of the nonGovernmental Organizations, conjugating theoretical sessions and practical activity within the own Organizations. The subject is inheriting of other experiences made in the campus of Segovia: the Seminary of Education for Development and Peace or the Conference of Education for Development and Peace in Castilla y Leon.
