El presente estudio trata de tres aspectos claramente relacionados entre sí: los doradores vallisoletanos y sus ordenanzas, los problemas del mismo gremio madrileño con los espaderos y ambos "andantes con la Corte" cuando ésta se encontraba en Valladolid. Como constatan las ordenanzas, sus parecidas competencias, les enfrentaron ante el Consejo Real que acabaría por sentenciar que cada uno cumpliera y se ajustara a lo señalado por dichos reglamentos aprobados por el emperador Carlos I.
This article deals with three different, but connected, matters: the gilders of Valladolid and their statutes, the problems of the gilders of Madrid with the swordsmiths and the problems of both gilders and swordsmiths of Madrid when 'andantes con la corte' (i.e., staying by the court, wherever it could be), precisely, when the court settled in Valladolid. Their spheres of work were quite similar (as proven by their statutes). This led them to an action at the Royal Court ('Consejo Real'), which established that each guild should observe and adjust their works to the prescriptions of the statutes approved by the emperor Charles I.
