El objetivo de estas páginas es valorar hasta qué punto el magisterio nebrisense guió la producción gramatical de González Holguín. Para ello, tras contextualizar las obras de Lingüística Misionera y trazar la trayectoria vital de nuestro autor, comparamos su obra, la Gramática y arte nueva de la lengua general de todo el Perú (1607), con la versión bilingüe de las Introductiones Latinae (h. 1488) y con la Gramática Castellana (1492) de Antonio de Nebrija. A continuación, evaluamos cómo aplica Holguín el modelo nebrisense en la descripción del quechua y si en este proceso se desvía del camino marcado por la gramática latina e incorpora algún tipo de innovación que le permita adecuarse a la realidad de la lengua quechua. Cerramos el ensayo con unas breves conclusiones y las referencias bibliográficas.
The purpose of this paper is to determine whether Nebrija's model guides the grammatical work of González Holguín. To achieve this aim, the article is divided into four parts. The first and the second parts cover, respectively, the development of Missionary Linguistics and the biography of the author. The third part consists of a comparison between the Gramática y arte nueva de la lengua general de todo el Perú (1607), the bilingual edition of the Introductiones Latinae (h. 1488) and Antonio de Nebrija's Gramática Castellana (1492). In the fourth section, it is analyzed how Holguín applies Nebrija's framework to describe Quechua language as well as how the missionary grammarian breaks away from the Graeco-Roman tradition to achieve a suitable description ofthe Amerindian language. Finally, it offers a concise conclusion and some bibliographical references.
