'Las guerras de cada día': en la Castilla del siglo XIV

Abstract

The armed conflicts were one of the biggest catastrophes together with the famine and the plague- that struck the Castilian society of the XIVth century. It was an everpresent phenomenon in which some tactical and technical innovations were introduced. Moreover, war proved to have an extraordinary ability to transform during this century not only the structure of the military organization of the kingdom, but also the society, the administration and the tax system, contributing in this way to the formation of the modern state.

Los conflictos armados fueron una de las grandes catástrofes -junto al hambre y la peste- que golpeó a la sociedad castellana del siglo XIV. Se trata de un fenómeno omnipresente en el que se introdujeron algunas innovaciones tácticas y técnicas. Además, la guerra demostró tener una extraordinaria capacidad para transformar durante esta centuria no sólo la estructura de la organización militar del reino, sino también a la sociedad, la administración y la fiscalidad, contribuyendo a la formación del estado moderno.
