Clio en crise?: trois défis à l'interrogation historienne actuelle

Abstract

En este artículo, el autor rechaza la idea según la cual la historia, como método de investigación de la condición humana a lo largo del tiempo, conoce una crisis. Habla, esencialmente, de los desafíos que caracterizan la pregunta actual de la historia. Escribir una historia 'justa" del pasado, elaborar una metáfora de aprehensión del mundo que permita entenderlo como una gran estructura disonante, y reformular la cuestión de la relación del yo con el nosotros -de modo que ni la autonomía del sujeto, ni su deseo de completitud social, ni la fuerza de los sistemas sobre él sean discutidos- se encuentran seguramente entre los mayores desafíos que se les plantean a los historiadores.

In this article, the author refutes the idea that history, as an investigation of the human condition over time, is in crisis. He addresses instead the challenges facing historians. To write a "just" account of the past; to craft a metaphor that grasps the world in its dissonance; and to rethink the relation between the self and the "we" in a way that neither the autonomy of the subject nor its will to participate in the society is disputed, are among the most important problems historians currently have to deal with.
