Este artículo analiza los veteranos legionarios de época imperial que decidieron volver a Hispania tras haber servido fuera de la Península Ibérica. Aunque los testimonios epigráficos no son muy numerosos, se observa cómo la mayor parte de ellos se asentaron en sus lugares de origen, una tendencia que se constata a nivel general en otras provincias imperiales. Sin embargo, las fuentes no permiten conocer las causas que motivaron la vuelta a casa de estos antiguos militares.
This article analyses the returning of legionary veterans to Hispania after serving outside the Iberian Peninsula. Although epigraphic evidence is not abundant, we can see how most of them settled in their places of origin, a tendency that is stated at a general level in other imperial provinces. However, the sources do not allow us to learn the factors that may have driven former soldiers to return home.
